Where are you from? How did you start your journey at Blair Carlisle?

I was raised in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Denver, CO to be closer to the activities I love outside of work. I’ve worked in Information Technology and Security across different industries and eventually ended up in IT Risk consulting/professional services.

How long have you been at Blair Carlisle? What has changed during your tenure?

I’ve been with Blair Carlise for 16 months now. I would say the speed of our operations have increased due to the Corona virus, however, we’re taking a “spring cleaning” approach to our operations. Processes are being reviewed and refined and we’re creating a more robust remote consulting environment. We’re basically turning “traditional” IT risk management on its head!

Tell me about your role as Chief Information Office at Blair Carlisle.

I was recruited by Blair Carlise to help provide a comprehensive compliance and IT risk management consulting structure that is inline with today’s cloud based clients and improve processes, procedures and overall strategy. My role is also to help with various programs to help continue to drive a more inclusive company culture.

What attracted you to Blair Carlisle?

Blair Carlise is on the precipice of massive growth, and I found that exciting. I felt that my work would impact growth and make a difference. I also liked the idea of coming to a smaller company where I can put names and faces together and truly get to know who we work with. I invite and encourage employees to reach out to me to say hello, and I look forward to meeting everyone at some point soon.

If you could describe Blair Carlisle in one word, what would it be?

Bold!

The firm is at a precipice and it’s time to fly or fall – we either jump or step back. Blair Carlise is ready to make that jump, and that’s incredibly bold.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned at Blair Carlisle?

When you encounter a roadblock, be relentless and keep pushing.

If I have an idea or strategy that doesn’t initially go as planned, I take a step back to reevaluate my game-plan, chat with a mentor and talk to stakeholders to get an idea of potential blind-spots. Then I recraft the plan and head back towards that roadblock.
